Slab selection is where most kitchens and baths win or lose. Here is how Nova Luxe approaches it.
A slab is not a sample.
The 4-inch stone sample in the design library and the 10-foot slab at the yard are not the same material. Veining, movement, and color vary dramatically across a single quarry block. Every serious stone selection ends with a yard walk — usually two, sometimes three.
Book-matching, waterfalls, and vein direction.
How the slab is cut and installed determines the outcome as much as the stone itself. Book-matching two slabs across a run of countertop — with veining that mirrors along the seam — reads as one continuous piece of stone. Waterfall edges on an island have to be templated from the same slab, in the correct vein direction, or the run breaks visually.
The role of the fabricator.
Nova Luxe works with a small group of fabricators whose templating and installation crews we trust. The design library and the fabricator's showroom are two different conversations — and both happen before the slab is cut.
